MIAMI RESIDENCE

A design highlight of this table is the faux diamond carving on the bottom side. SJV developed this technique to create ‘slimmer’ ends and sides to accommodate seating from a 9” thick slab. This solution achieved a strong, rigid structure while allowing convenient seating heights for the client. The client required mobility allowing the table to be moved for entertaining, cleaning, etc. SJV developed a hidden castor system in the metal bases.

OUR PRODUCT

WE FOCUS ON QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY.

SJV does what other manufacturers do not want to do. Entirely custom, made-to-order, artisanal product in low quantity, often one-offs.

SJV is not a factory, it is a custom workshop with access to modern design tools and manufacturing resources as well as the wide range of traditional local craftsmanship.

Our work includes custom furniture, screens and feature walls for high end residential, hospitality and corporate venues. SJV’s clients include upper tier residential designers, commercial developers and luxury hotel brands. Our projects are approximately 50% / 50% residential vs. hospitality / commercial.

Meet the team

Kandis Wrigley

Owner & Founder

As a graduate from Colorado College heading into a career in Public Relations with J. Walter Thompson, a business in Indonesia was not on her immediate radar. Kandis climbed the ranks of JWT to occupy the position of Director of Public Relations and candidly credits her early training in publicity and crisis management to later success in sales and client management with SJV!

After a break to raise her three kids, Kandis formed SJV which started with one American employee and a part time local sourcing sidekick. Her passion for the Indonesian craftsmanship, coupled with her understanding of high end projects and clients, drove the foundations of her new company. She saw an opportunity to present these resources to the Western market in a package it could understand and trust.

Kandis has personally spearheaded sales and client relationships around the globe.  Her primary role is sales and business development, while regularly overseeing the Bali operations.

Luc Poirier

Production Manager

Luc was 10 years old when he sketched his first project. It was an underwater house that he drew for his father. To his biggest surprise, the client didn’t approve his drawing! It was that experience that taught Luc he had much to learn and eventually led him to Olivier de Serres school in Paris to graduate as an industrial designer.

Years later, while with a hospitality firm in Singapore, he worked with San Juan Ventures on a Manila project which eventually led to his current position.

Luc is our Design and Production Manager and shifts gears daily between the design team upstairs and the guys on the floor. Luc spearheaded SJV’s Design and Development Platform to interpret client’s dreams through manufacturing reality.
